Kauai.

I'm seriously behind on my blogging already in 2017 but I'm finally getting a chance to share some photos from our short trip to Kauai. It was such an honor and amazing experience to be invited to document Angela & Ellis's wedding in paradise. We had just one day to ourselves after the wedding was over to explore and take in as much of Kauai as we could and I think we did a pretty good job. We stayed at the beautiful St. Regis Hotel during our visit and it was the perfect home away for us. Being able to wake up, roll out of bed and look out the window and see the beautiful Kauai mountains just feet away was truly breathtaking. We started our day as early as we could with a mission to experience Kauai. We beach hopped and ate poke as much as we could stomach πŸ˜‹. The best thing of Kauai to me was how raw it's landscapes were. Everything from the waterfalls and the Queen's Bath was so untouched by commercialization. The island just felt like a small town still and I loved everything about that. Here are just a few of the images I tried to take to capture the pure beauty of what Kauai was during our visit.

ginger.

This is super overdue by now but I wanted to make sure I introduced my sister, Ginger to everyone. When Sarah was pregnant in 2012 I knew then that she was going to want to take a least a year off from working weddings so that she could spend more time at home with Chloe. In combination with the decision to take on fewer clients and having to train and find another associate photographer 2012 was a really stressful one for us. But Ginger was there for us. She stepped in not having any professional training in photography and took to my hands on training and accepted my criticism at times and has just become an amazing associate photographer. Any professional will tell you that when you have a great 2nd shooter it really makes a huge difference. Just having someone who you can trust in and who will be covering your back at all times make the stress of working weddings so much more fun and relaxed.

Thank you so much Ginger for your help and support the past 2 years! I can’t wait to see what 2014 has in store for you! Sarah + I are supper appreciative of you!
